“So be Perfect, Just As Your Heavenly Father Is Perfect” Matthew 5:48

The Above scriptural verse is short and simple yet packs a tall order! Here we are called to surpass usual standards of conduct. We are called to go beyond ourselves perhaps to the degree of personal discomfort to follow God’s Commandments. Who and What is God Our Father about?

We know that God loves us beyond our comprehension. We know this for a fact because He sent His only Son to suffer and die for our salvation. His Son, Jesus was given a limited amount of time on earth to teach us how to think, behave and live in order for us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus’ Heart was pierced not only by the Centurion’s sword but also by our sins, indifferences and the hardness of our hearts. Yet, God is all-forgiving and never ceases to call us to Him, for His Love is unconditional and His compassion is inexhaustible.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the Life.

Our Heavenly Father loves us dearly and He yearns for each of us to feel His ineffable love; a love that satisfies every pain, suffering and longing with a sweetness that is beyond this world. God reaches out to you with tenderness and deep in your hearts you will know with a knowing that is unknown to the world. I am ineffective at describing a joy and peace that is briefly felt, yet lingers in every cell of your blessed being.

Why don’t we open our hearts to the Heart of Jesus? We are spiritually impaired because of distractions and love of our imperfect world. Although the gift of faith was given with the Sacrament of Baptism, the practice of faith is frequently given up.

Faith is a seed that grows by nourishing it, by learning about it and preserving it by means of following God’s Commandments, receiving the Sacraments regularly and reading the Holy Scriptures as often as possible, preferably daily. In addition, an urgency to return or restore faith starts by reaching out to others in charity.

Faith differs from one’s own superior and erroneous judgment. Because we are mere flesh and blood fashioned from the dust of the earth, it is imperative to guard and cherish the treasured gift of faith, for faith enables us to act beyond what reason teaches us. Christ overcame death, sin, Satan and hell. His Resurrection is evidence of the triumph of life over death.

Romans 10:17–“Faith, then, comes through hearing, and what is heard is the word of Christ.”

Phillipians 4:8- “Finally, my brothers, your thoughts should be wholly directed to all that is true, all that deserves respect, all that is honest, pure, admirable, decent, virtuous, or worthy of praise.”

    Beloved Friends,

Empower your personal life, family life and your daily business decisions by following three simple suggestions:

    1) Follow God’s Commandments
    2) Receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Penance regularly
    3) Read the holy Scriptures as often as possible, preferably daily.

Our Blessed Mother is praised for her faith and she serves as a reminder for us to consistently seek holiness. Mary was the true Ark of the Covenant and because of her love, humility and obedience to God, Jesus was conceived in her by the Holy Spirit and born. The Gospel of Christ is a Gospel of life and we reap a new life in the spirit through Jesus Christ when we follow His Gospels.

Our life here on earth is not and will not ever be perfect, but when we live with Jesus’ teachings in our hearts, we are enabled to achieve a level of peace and right decisions that will positively transform our lives. Like every skilled gift, practice makes perfect. He is always with us and when we are faithful, despite difficulties, He will never abandon us. Therefore, it makes logical sense to remind ourselves of His Presence in our hearts, minds and daily lives and bear witness to His indescribable love.

Remember to continue to pray for world peace, our troops and their families and the banning of abortion. Thank you.

    Your companion in prayer,

    Prayer in Time of Difficulties

O Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, God of Sanctity, God of Majesty,
    God Everlasting,
Have pity on us and on the whole human race. Now and always purify us from our sins and infirmities with Thy Precious Blood so that we may be able to live in Thy holy peace and charity, now and forever. Amen.
