IS LOVE A
Watching the news lately makes me wonder if the entire world is in a state of total madness. Have you observed the various international unrest and chaos that’s vigilantly reported on your TV screens? I have found myself wondering if there is no end to the various church bombings of Christian worshippers, massive government protests as well as the powerful Mexican drug cartels. How about the ship pirates in the open seas and the persecution of Christians in Somalia, Sudan, China, Indonesia and various Middle Eastern Arab nations. Then there’s the unending legalized killing of the unborn, an social injustice via the abortion clinics that needs to be reckoned with.
Is the world ready for self destruction? There has to be some honesty to the song, “Where Have All the Good Guys Gone”? Better yet, “Stop the World. I want to get off!” seems to be the next best solution. I’d venture to say that the writers were almost certainly prophetic.
So, where’s the love that everyone is always ready to dance and sing about? No, no, I’m not referring to HOLLYWOOD superficial love. I’m making a reference to genuine, sacrificial, unselfish and tolerant love that is hardly publicized and peculiarly invisible to the media. I’m talking about the love that alters the playing field of happy, happy in your face!!
Perhaps I should apologize because St. Valentine’s Day is almost here. Incidentally, secularists preferred “Valentine’s Day” to “St. Valentine’s Day” for obvious vending reasons. Anything that is related to Christianity is not profitable in the mainstream retail marketplace. Secularists would conclude that you can’t sell “jamies”, teddy bears, flowers, or chocolates to Christians.
Truly, I am not masquerading in criticism or merely expressing negativities. The reality is that secularism is counterproductive and political correctness lacks substance with an agenda to limit freedom of speech and silence the truth.
Atheism defies logic and common sense. It is a cry of hatred that promotes tension, fear and anger. Atheism is spiritually bankrupt while unambiguously setting the tone for turmoil. Guide your honor and integrity against being swayed by untruths.
Pontius Pilate asked, “What is truth?” The truth is that God posses us. The truth is that we are precious and that we are free and we can help set others free from their enslavement to addictions and ignorance. We are free to maintain our faith and our integrity. The social fabric of society is entwined and strengthened with God’s Word.
True love is the precious blood poured out for us from Jesus’ side. Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Without Him we are misguided, fearful creatures trying to make sense of our humanity. True love is our Blessed Mother’s heartrending tears, sacrifices and suffering for love of her Son, Jesus as she witnessed His Crucifixion.
My dear friends, only true love embedded in Christ’s teachings is a reality and here to stay. Spread the news that true love rooted in the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Penance is alive and thriving!
1 John 4:16, 19 ‘We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.’ “We, for our part, love because he first loved us.”
