    PENTECOST

    May 2010

John 20:19-23 “On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’  20- When he said this, he showed them his hands and his side.  The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. 21- Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you.  As the Father has sent me, so I send you.’ 22- And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. 23-Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them and whose sins you retain are retained.”

    Beloved Friends,
God is truly the source of all joyHe sent His Son to suffer and die for us so that we may enjoy eternal life, and then He sent His Holy Spirit to guide and direct us in order that we may proceed with confidence with the mission of salvation.
The Catholic Church is the mystical body of Christ.  It is a living soul and its soul is the Holy Spirit.  The Church is holy in spite of unholy members.  The Church appoints Bishops and priests for continuation of God’s laws.  Catholics should always know, love and defend their faith.  Why?  For love of us and to help us develop and maintain a consistent relationship with God through Jesus and Mary, Christ established the Church.

The Catholic Church is a Divine institution that is indestructible.  Governments cannot destroy the Church.  Folks, I’m merely conveying Christ’s teachings.  Matthew 16:18 “And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld (hell) shall not prevail against it.

The recent embarrassing Church scandals are problems of epic proportions, however, Pope Benedict XVI has been paying close attention towards purging and eliminating all offensive individuals from their assigned positions and the offenders are gradually and systematically being purged and eliminated.  Perhaps a slow process, nevertheless, it is a reality, thank God!

***“The Gospel reassures us that God can make all things new, that history need not be repeated, that memories can be healed, that the bitter fruits of recrimination and hostility can be overcome...”  ***Pope Benedict XVI

On another note, this is the closing of the month of May, the month where we honor Mary, our mother.  I will be leading a Living Rosary on Friday, May 28 at St. Francis Church, 868 Ringwood Avenue, Haskell, NJ.  This Living Rosary will be very special because it will be followed by a procession with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Icon.  During the processions of the original Icon, in Constantinople (which is presently Turkey) many people received healings and miracles.  You are all welcomed to participate and hopefully be recipients of Our Lady’s graces and blessings through her Son, Jesus.  I hope to see you there!

True to form, I always end my messages with a reminder to pray for world peace, our military and their families.  Also, offer your Rosary recitals for the banning of abortion throughout the world.  Thank you.
    Your companion in prayer,
    Mary Sayad
